Description: When synching the handheld computer to Solid Route Accounting, the screen of the handheld computer will display, “Connecting with the desktop,” and after a while, the warning shows, “The Connection Between Your Handheld Computer and the Desktop Could Not be Established. Please Check Your Setup and Try Again.”
Using the available [OK] button will return to the ‘HotSync’ screen. The problem is that the sync connection is not getting through to Solid MultiConnect.
Resolution: The solution for this problem will vary depending on what connection type is being used.
Internal Wi-Fi Wireless Sync: Please follow the steps in Article#89: Can’t Sync the Handheld Computer by Wi-Fi Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN).
External Wi-Fi Wireless Sync: Please follow the steps in Article#127: Connecting with the desktop using WLAN.
USB Cable Sync: Due to the nature of the behaviour of USB connection in Windows operating systems, this connection type is not recommended by Solid Innovation if the option of purchasing and using a Wi-Fi wireless internet router is available for the company’s business or area. When a handheld computer connects to the office PC by way of a USB sync, the USB connection needs to be re-established, unlike that of a USB scanner or printer which is always listed as being connected. This reconnection process will sometimes fail to be done correctly by Windows, or will simply not take place at all.
To resolve these types of connection issues, please try the steps below. Although we don’t guarantee that they’ll work due to the fickle nature of USB, they will increase the chances of getting the USB sync to work.
