External Wi-Fi Wireless Sync Not Working for Palm OS Handheld Computers
Answer: Synching a handheld computer from an external Wi-Fi wireless hotspot is the most convenient method for route sales people to sync their handheld computers when away from the main warehouse. There can be many factors involved though when an external sync stops working for the route sales person. This article will try to address all the possible issues that may be involved in getting the handheld computer reconnected with Solid MultiConnect to get synched, and get the transactions safely into Solid Route Accounting.
- If connecting to a new external Wi-Fi network, please read Article#116: Palm OS Wi-Fi Sync Setup Guide, specifically Section 4, as this article you're reading now pertains only to external wireless connections that have been successfully connected to in the past.
- When connecting to a wireless network, or when trying to sync, if the message shows, “No AP Found,” please read Article#118: Connection Failed, No AP Found.
- When synching the handheld computer, if it shows, “Connecting with the desktop using WLAN,” this means that it has successfully connected to a wireless network within range of the handheld computer. If after while the handheld computer doesn’t start synching, but instead displays, “The connection between your handheld computer and the desktop could not be established,” then please read Article#127: Connecting With the Desktop Using WLAN.
