Does your 2009 investment qualify for tax benefits?

IRS guidelines have made it possible to lease or finance up to $250,000 in qualifying equipment and write the entire $250,000 off a company’s 2009 tax bill. Are you prepared for the Harmonized Sales Tax (HST)?

On July 1, 2010 the provinces of Ontario and British Columbia will be implementing a new Harmonized Sales Tax (HST). The 13% HST in Ontario will be a combination of the 8 percent Retail Sales Tax (RST), also known as the Provincial Sales Tax (PST), and the 5 percent Federal Goods and Services Tax (GST). In British Columbia, the combined HST will be the equivalent of 12%. The specific details of the new tax have yet to be released, but in the mean time, you need to remember to prepare your route sales.
